| Icelandic fleeces come in a variety of colors and patterns. The long lustrous double-coated fleece is a delight to spin. The outer coarser coat, call "tog", protects the animals from rain and wind and gives loft to the soft, fine, downy undercoat call "thel". These coats can be spun together from the lock, beginning with the cut end, or can be separated easily by holding the cut end of the lock in the left hand, grasping the ends of the "tog" in the right hand, and gently pulling. | |
